"There is no more deadly way to get even with a suppressive or an antagonistic person or a downgrading society than by flourishing and prospering.
All a suppressive person or society is trying to do is prevent one from flourishing and prospering.
Of course, one has to handle threats or attacks. But don't get stuck in on them. One handles them but puts his main attention on doing things that will make one and the group flourishes and prosper."
L. Ron Hubbard, EXECUTIVE DIRECTIVE, LRH ED 307 INT, 1 DECEMBER AD29
It is easy to attack aspiring groups and assign imaginative and unsubstantiated motives to those who are working to keep scientology going on the third and forth dynamic.
It is also a poor commentary upon the attacker that they would rather attack such groups than support or, nay even start groups of their own. It says a lot about such attackers that their interest appears to be more questioning the source of scientology as demonstrated by their efforts to thwart its growth.
Historically, those on source tend to get attacked by those who have demonstrated themselves to be not on source. The attacks will be both overt and covert. Some just 'reasonable' and some out and out, no quarter given attacks.
Any new group striving to put source there will be accused of some nasty imagined crimes. Generalities will be thrown at them; Of course no names will be mentioned. That would never do. That would involve actual confronting.
APIS (when it was the IFA) has experienced this sort of thing. They went through this. Being accused of wanting to replace the church, trying to take over the independent (freezone it was then) field, even being accused of out tech and incompetence. And, "how dare they introduce Certification of auditors!" The list goes on. What a laugh!
Of course we survived through that. And persisted. Most of the attackers are long gone but WE are still here, have been for over ten years and will be here for a lot longer.
The answer to such attacks is very simple.
APIS has continued to persist despite such attacks due to the following principles being applied.
1. Stay strictly on source. And never countenance any deviation. Follow the tech and policy exactly, display many pictures of source on all your offices, websites, and publications. Issue many quotes from source.
2. For every attack do not feed the attack by a return flow. Instead respond by creating a further expansion and announcing that fact.
3. Lastly, continue to demonstrate persistence, loudly and to all ... regardless.
APIS welcomes more on source groups that promote the technology and its application and spread scientology to the world. Positive groups that audit and train more people in the technology and the philosophy of life. We encourage more people to take up the banner and start a group in their own area.
We need hundreds of groups, not just a few people who want to hog the limelight and natter heavily about groups doing something about it. It is the hundreds of groups spreading scientology across the planet and getting more and more people educated and made Clear, that is going to salvage this planet. Not a few denigrating the efforts of others.
