What do scientologists study?

Scientologists study the applied philosophy of Lafayette Ron Hubbard.

You hear many distorted ideas and tales in the media but in fact the basics of the philosophy include sound principles of living and an understanding of life.

Such basic principles as the cycle of action, where all things in the universe follow a cycle of action of Start, Change and Stop. Where the common denominator of existence is Survival and how this affects how people go about their lives.

Understanding what a person is and what they are capable of.

Understanding also how to help people other improve their lives also.

These are some of the basic principles of life which scientologists study.

These principles, as well as basic axioms of life, are contained in the books which Lafayette Ron Hubbard wrote and are available from the usual book sources such as bookstores, eBay and even the church itself.

Of course there are a great many more principles and axioms and much information on how these are applied and scientologists study these in books, tapes and in specific courses.

Scientologists also study how to assist others in improving their lives by applying these basic principles to others. They do this by following strict guidelines of application and by asking a series of questions designed to assist a person to see aspects of their live which they would not normally look at and which, when viewed, enables the person to take more control over that area of their life.

Very little of this makes its way to the media who are more interested in something more controversial and less mundane than people finding out about life and improving their life. Hence the real scientology tends to be not shown. Only the Tom Cruise style hype which contains no information about scientology at all.
